12th July 2008 Brixton fencers win medals at National Championships Brixton Fencing Club was well represented in the medals at the 2008 England Youth Fencing Championships held in Reading on the 5th and 6th of July. Sarah Sanchez-Lethem became the new U11 girls epee champion. Fellow clubmates Leah Morris and Aml Sinclair took bronze in the U11 girls and boys epee. Paul Sanchez-Lethem was the silver medallist in the U15 boys. Adam, Tommy, Jasper and Jamal also fought well against tough opposition. Club Championships The Briton Fencing Club Championships took place on the last day of term. It was well attended and a fun and successful evening. It was great to see some of our younger fencers getting a chance to compete for the first time and parents were there to provide moral support, wipe brows and administer water! We wish everyone a good summer and look forward to seeing you all in September. Term starts on Monday 8th September. |

About Brixton Fencing Club |

Brixton Fencing Club is aimed at Juniors aged 8 and above. The club meets at Brixton Recreation Centre.
Summer term dates 2008: Term starts Monday 14th April Term ends Friday 11th July Half term Monday 26th to Friday 30th May
Sessions run on:
Monday 6pm to 7.30pm a session aimed at younger children and starters Wednesday 6pm to 7.30pm a mixed ability session Wednesday 7.30 to 9pm an adults session Friday 6pm to 8pm competition night aimed at more experienced fencers
Fees: children £7 per session, first lesson free.
adults £15 per session
There will be extra holiday programmes (dates and fees to be arranged)
